My first contact with reggae was when i was young.....12 years.
I had my first PC and was looking on Wikipedia, Bob Marley just came on my mind.
There was also a clip from Bob Marley named Forever Loving Jah, his music was perfect.
I was touched by his music en since then i was growing into reggae music.

My first meeting with reggae was with Aswad! The band was playing live in a broadcast of France Culture radio in1976. So i run to my disco shop and get Aswad, Burning Spear, Gladiators etc....
and it never left me!

Growing up in the 80s my first contact with Reggae was the occasional Top40 Reggae hit on the radio. It took another 10 years until I realised there was a genre for that kind of music. From there I started to dig my way through this beautiful sounds, starting with the traditional Roots & Culture, all the way back to Rocksteady and Ska, over to Dancehall, Dub, digital stuff and modern Roots.
I'll end with one of the first Reggae lines I heard as a toddler, though i didn't understand it at that time, otherwise my journey with Reggae wouldn't be 25 but 35 years long:

I don't like Reggae, oh no! I LOVE IT
